What you'll do
- Install RecurX from the Shopify App Store and authorize the requested scopes.
- Create your first subscription plan and attach a product.
- Enable the storefront widget through your theme's App Embeds.
- Place a test order to confirm the subscription flow.
Step 1 — Install
After installing from the App Store, you'll land on the RecurX Dashboard. Approve the scope request the first time you open the app. RecurX uses Shopify session tokens — no passwords are stored.
Step 2 — Create a plan
Open Plans and click Create plan. Set:
- Name — what subscribers see in checkout (e.g. "Monthly Coffee").
- Billing interval — every 30 days, every 4 weeks, etc.
- Discount — optional. Subscribers can save 5–20% vs. one-time buyers.
- Products — attach at least one product. The plan group syncs to Shopify automatically.
Detailed setup: Create a subscription plan.
Step 3 — Enable the widget
In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds and toggle "RecurX widget" ON. Then in Storefront → Widget pick a template and tweak colors.
Step 4 — Test
Open a product page in incognito. The widget should show subscribe-and-save options above the Add to Cart button. Place a test order with a card; confirm the contract appears under Subscribers.
If something doesn't render, see Widget not showing.
